Time to open a big-ass can of nostalgia and take a peek into my childhood.
I dunno how many of you grew up playing the Jumpstart Adventure series as a kid, but I did. Back in le day, I used to think they were the coolest thing ever.
Jump ahead to 2005. My little sister was in the fifth grade and was thus undergoing the obligatory ritual of Jumpstart Adventures Fifth Grade: Jo Hammet, Kid Detective. I was 19 at the time and thought it would be fun to try the game again. It would be incredibly easy, seeing as I was a college student now, right?
NOPE.
I discovered, to my shame, that I was NOT smarter than a fifth-grader.
But what was funny was that the storyline seemed to be aimed at an older demographic that 10 and 11 year olds. Jo can be really snarky when she wants!
"This place is seedier than a cornfield."
"Yeah, but it's got atmosphere."
"So much I can hardly BREATHE..."
*ba-dum tsshhh!*
Anyway, here's some drawings I whipped up during my second playthrough. Because skateboarding, crime-fighting, redheaded tomboys are awesome.

All time classic...... I always find the 90s and early 2000s Jumpstart characters design to be the best. They are shockful with all those 90s saturday cartoon vibe and shock load with a writing beyond just an edutainment for elementary kid.
